I’ve been going through a lot with my hormones. Since having moved to Austin, I noticed that my PMS pain and symptoms have only gotten more difficult. I noticed that my typical daily healthy routines of meditation, breath work, eating healthy, avoiding caffeine and doing ice baths weren’t helping. I knew in that moment that it was hormonal. My intuition told me, that something was off. The mood swings, food cravings and irritability were extremely intense. I googled how I was feeling and discovered the disorder, “PMDD”. I looked at the symptoms and compared mine, where I found that they were nearly identical. Although, I haven’t been properly diagnosed with PMDD by a Doctor, I do feel that I may have it. (I am not a licensed professional and I am not giving advice. Only my opinion from my personal experience. Please seek professional help, if you need it). I took it upon myself to decide to follow the holistic, eastern medicine path. I found a wonderful acupuncturist in Austin, he gave me a very helpful protocol that has been amazing for cleansing my liver and lowering my blood sugar, which both influence hormones. I also made an appointment to get a blood test soon as well as going on Hormone replacement therapy pills( estrogen or progesterone capsules).
I am very excited to begin feeling like my best self again and I wanted to write this to share with you all what has been going on in my personal life. I did also want to shine a light on how much your hormones impact you. From your energy levels, mood to your skin. They impact everything! Anyways, I will keep you all updated on my experience!
